Summary:
When Tohno Shiki was a child he was involved in an accident which allowed him to see lines over everything. Unfortunately no one believed him until one day a lady gave him a pair of glasses that made the lines disappear. She told him he had special powers that he would need for the person he cared about.

Now Shiki is older and moving back home to live with his sister. On the way home from school one day he sees a woman and his heart starts beating, and before he knows it he's in the park standing over her body, a bloody knife in his hand. He passes out at the site. When he wakes up he is home in bed, and there is no blood anywhere. Was it all a dream? He believes it is until walking through the same park that he sees the girl he thought he killed.
