This anime is different. What appears to start out asyour usual boy likes girl, boy gets a mecha and kicksbutt, and all is right with the world, is not whathappens.

Two girls, Chikane and Himeko, that appear to meet byaccident at school find out they are the Pristess ofthe Moon and the Sun. It is their duty to save theearth from the evil Orogai. Their friend Souma isactually one of the Orogai, but he swears to protectthe girls from harm. Souma confesses to Himeko thathe will stay by her side, just as he has since theywere children. So far that's your standard story.

Standards change quickly. Every time Souma helpsprotect the girls his body dies a little more. Theevil beings that live on the moon and are set ondestroying the earth are strangely modern. In factamong the seven are a manga writer/artist, a modernteenage girl, a little cat-girl complete with a tailand ears and a very large syringe as part of herattack, and a girl that sports more crosses thanSister Rosette. The chief Orogai is Souma's brother.

And then I must give a warning for this anime. Although it has the girls of the school being in"love" with Chikane because she is beautiful, we go alittle further with it. In the last episodes is ascene of Chikane raping Himeko. This is not yournormal story.

Although it was hard for me to watch some of theepisodes, by the end you realize that everything youhave seen does have a reason. Why the evil beingswant to destroy the earth. What is the true relationof Himeko to Chikane. It all comes together in thelast two episodes. Watch this for the complete story, and try not to judge the characters beforehand.
