Reviews/Dorama/Great Teacher Onizuka

The Great Teacher Onizuka drama was pretty much my gateway drug into watching Japanese dramas. I watched episode one on a lark and was quite impressed the acting of Sorimachi Takashi as Onizuka. The rest of the cast reads like a who's who of dramas, so you can spot some really popular actors in their early days. The episodes get a little formulaic as he tries turning one student after another to his side each episode in the classic Teacher Takes on Trouble Class story that's so familiar in drama, anime, and manga. That being said, each episode is still great fun to watch and this is a drama you should definitely check out.
