Reviews/Anime/Tenchi

The whole line of Tenchi animes is good, with the exception of GXP. This includes Tenchi Muyo, Tenchi Universe, and Tenchi in Tokyo. This is another of the few animes where the english dub really isn't all that bad. The animation, especially in the OVA, is outstanding. Almost all of the backgrounds look like finely detailed paintings. The story has its funny moments, as well as its depressing ones. If you're looking to get into the Tenchi franchise, then I'd start with Tenchi Muyo, which is the OVA.
